Hello Don
Since you are a bit of a celebrity in the EDF arena maybe you can steer me towards the most popular models?
thanks

well that size motor will seriously hurt thrust stiking out in the airflow like that.

Dan,
I only use GWS and Alfa an units at the moment so can not help out much on other fans out there . But I would assume that that everyone is using the 16mm and 17mm hole spacing. The real thing is the spacer heigh. At least the GWS fans have the motor further back so the adapter can be short. The Alfa fan needs a much longer adapter to get the motor back.
Don't worry about excessive advertising, some guy is bent out of shape and is going on a rampage reporting people, he started a thread I saw ranting about it. If a mod contacts you then worry :)

don't bother looking for the reporter, I was shamelessly breaking the rules.
now that I have actually read those rules I realize that, but you know what they say....ignorance is no excuse....

Steve
its the motor/fan combo in the photo, MicroDAN 2505 Velocity 5100Kv mounted in a XF fan.
the 4s RPM is really higher than i noted but the 4s batt i have is bad and will not hold voltage.

Looks great Dan. What's the diameter of the can? It would be nice to see an alternative to the LSJS.

the bell is 32mm in diameter.
you can see the my motors in detail at e-foamies.com or gobrushless.com
I am still experimenting with EDF's and will very soon have adapters available on the website.
the adapter will fit the GWS EDF 64 and I will also have an adapter for the XF fan.
I'm still experimenting with the motor but you can see the latest data here, look at post #207
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=716242&page=3
I will test that same motor in the XF fan very soon.
