well I used turbentine substiute on sticker residue on an RTR yacht however, that may affect your paint.

one thing that could be done, is in a pharmacy you may be able to get some medical adhesive remover. that may work

Try either Spray polish, Pledge is ideal...

Or Goo Gone.. which is wonderful for removing the sticky residue from those price tags the LHS stick on everything ;)

I would imagine that Goo gone would eat everything though... That stuff has the
smell of an agressive paint thinner.... I would test that stuff before putting it on a painted surface.

WD-40 works on that goo, just like on everything else in the world. Umi's right. Goo Gone will eat the paint. :)

could be watered down.

also some kitchen cleaners used to clean work surfaces have some additived that will remove grime such as sticker adhesive residue

Genltemen; Thanks for the quick replies.. i went with Pledge as it was in the house, worked great I did use a little scrub pad. I will try not to do that stunt again. Thanks, Kcee

I saw this too late... but I have a surefire trick that works with no harmful chemicals so it won't ruin any finishes...

Put a little bit of Canola oil on your finger and then rub the sticky area and work it in. The sticky residue will start to ball up and come off in no time. When your done, wipe oil off with tissue and then use a degreaser cleaner (e.g. dish soap and water is one example) to get the oil off.

You can also use the same trick to get any sort of label residue off.
