G'Day all.
I had a bit of an idea regarding a starte/alternator setup. So far most setups such as the Sulllivan and others use gears and shafts to mount starter alternator motors, such as brushless.
What about an inline system? Removed the backplate for the crankcase, machine a new one which contains a bearing, the same as the front bearing, and then machine a new shaft, which has an extended shaft to the rear, to which a coupling is used to connect to a brushless motor, which would be an unrunner for ease of set-up, or an outrunner with a bit mor stuffing around. A relay could be used to select either start or charge.
I'm going to try to draw up an example . The only problem I have maybe the revs, where a gearbox may be required.
Thoughts?????
Regards, Rob.

Sorry fellas, but I placed it in the engines thread, which is probably more appropriate at this stage. Thread closed and placed in engines.
