Have you flown this yet? What kind of range do you get? Is it UAV or is pilot on board? I think it would be awsome if GA went to electric, talk about noise abatement!

If you read the link, you'll find this was just unveiled at the EAA convention at Oshkosh yesterday. I'm not clear if its being demo'd at AirVenture 2007 or not. Sonex Aircraft is located right at Wittman field in Oshkosh WI. If it is being flown I might have to zoom down there. :D

The proof of concept plane is not planning to be flown until later this year.

What's ultimate about 1:1? What's stopping someone from building a 2:1 scale super cub or cessna? ;-)

Good one! :D And put some giant dummy pilots in it to keep it lite ;)

Somewhere out there's a video of this monster landing on a 50' long sand bar in the middle of a river. What an amazing plane!

The Waiex hasn't flown yet. It's expected duration with the current batteries ranges from 16 minutes at aerobatic power levels up to 45 minutes at minimum power.

The link in post #1 does not work. It gives me "Time Out" all the time. Any suggestions?
