hi guys,

i`m lately scratchbuilding lots of depron planes... one is a modell of a modell, the original plane has 80cm wingspan with a chord of 20cm at the root and 15 at the tip. The wing is full profile with a flat underside.

Now i`m doing a 66% version of said plane and i`m wondering which wing would produce more lift, just a scaled down version of the original wing (which has a pretty thick profile) or a chambered plate only (open onderside).

What do you think ?

Cheers

A cambered plate with the same profile as the upper shell of a full profile wing will always produce more lift, as it will have more net camber.

It will also work better at the lower Reynolds number.

It will, however, be more limited in range of achievable CL, as such thin wing sections are wont to be. So don't go a-speedin' with that little s#cker; it won't be fun.
