I went to a funfly this weekend - my favorite of the year and had a great time despite one of my transmitters developing a 'blip' - any shake and it would momentarily turn itself off, creating a cricket like sound. I traced the problem to the battery/circuit board connector, and needless to say I stopped using it.

Anyway, my gripe. Most of the fliers are danged profession, but what's with those few folks who bring planes to funflies that don't have the controls properly set up, or the engines tuned, etc. It makes me shake my head in distain. Funflies are for flying. The tinkering should be done at home, that way you're not tying up frequencies, starting births whatever when others could be actually getting planes in air. I can sympathise with repairs or folks who just made a deal for a plane, but normal plane and engine setup should be left at home.

So did you have a Life that lets you go to Fun Flies?

Was the Fun Fly in this or some other Universe?

Do you think the 'spoilers' were Politically motivated by the Democrats or Republicans? (or was it a Canadian political Fun Fly?).

 :D

So a "Life the Universe and Politics" thread MUST be political now? Fine. Reagan was a commie-lover.

Most FFs I've been to will NOT allow planes that haven't been maidened beforehand or people putzing around on the flightline. That's the Flight Director's job to ensure that people cycle through the pilot's boxes without a bunch of goofing around.

How do they know?

I think that the point of a funfly is getting people to fly.

What if a guy brought 1 plane and he hasn't flown it yet....
do you ban him from the flightline.

Besides crashes are fun to watch :D

How many liberals were at this so called fun fly?

Which covert government agencies had personnel strategically interspersed incognito at the event?

Did global warming change anything - longer flight times, perhaps?

Anyone there explain how building seven collapsed in its own footprint within seven seconds even though it wasn't even hit by a plane?

In general, I oppose starting births on the flight line. Conceptions are fine, though.

Life, The Universe, and Politics - A place to discuss politics, current events, and other non-hobby topics.
BTW, I reported the above quoted post for trolling. Due to the obvious baiting re: Reagan.

VP, don't go and spoil a man's fun. Reagan DID NOT GO TO FUN FLIES. You have him confused with Clinton who spent a lot of time trying to convince people that he didn't know nothin' 'bout birthin' runways.

and I HATE bushes on the runway!!

Global warming is still warming. At a rate of .6 degrees/century.

I always test fly before the fun fly. Work out all the bugs then show up and claim it's the maiden. Then everyone thinks all my planes are perfect right off the board.

Also-20 years on Ambulance and I still aint birthed no babies. Came close once. Showed up for my shift and the truck was gone. Asked the dispatcher where it went and he said right across the street about 10 minutes ago, as soon as the medic walked into the house the girl shot the kid out like a rocket. So they they loaded mommy and baby into the Ambulance and went to the ER.

Always a brides maid but never the bride.

Since our club is AMA sanctioned, all planes must be flown prior to any flight in the presence of spectators.
