Hi all looking for a winter progect for my second sailplane and am thinking of the Omega 636.I saw a reveiw inQuiet flyer mag.and looks like a good 2nd plane. My spirt arf was a little less than perfect,(weak wing joiner, problams with the spoiler installation, over all miss fit of parts) so i thought i would ask around before my second plane.i wont be flying it till a get lots more practice in with the spirit and feel like i am ready to take the steps to ailerons.anyone have any feedback?

I love mine; though its not stock, hopped-up with a Mega 22/20/3E and APC"F" 10x6!
Stock might be an OK 2nd plane; hopped-up though make its a warm liner, not quite a hot liner.
I think you might get more of a response if you repost this or have a moderator move it the Electric Sailplane forum.

I have just finished the little bother to the Omega, the Thermalaire. I have only completed a hand-full of gliders, all ARF's, and I can honestly tell you that the product from Wattage is of quite good quality. I do not think you will be dissapointed ;)
The kit is put together better than I could have done on my own, with reasonable fit and finish
I had to go with the Thermalaire due to budget restrictions, but the Omega is still on my wish list. Do a search on the Omega on this forum and on the others on the web (e-mail me if you want the URLs).
I ran mine with a Magnetic Mayhem on 6 1700AE until a house jumped in the way and bent my shaft. I am now running it with the stock Mabuchi (sp?) 540 motor and a 9X6 folder instead of the stock 8x4 - this is due to my altitude at almost 5000 ft ASL.
Have fun, and post again to tell us all about your new Omega when it's ready.
