You may have to go to a resturant supply shop to find one that big.

A gallon isn't that much. I bought this one:

.. with the 20% coupons that are always in our mailbox. I've been very happy with it. Oh, and it holds 5l of oil (1.32086026 US gallons)..

Wow thats a big one.
Good luck.
You can get the gas ones at several places but I don't know about the electric ones of that size.
What are you going to boil in oil anyway.
Be sure and use peanut oil.

RRR let me have a look online for you. In Australia the only commercial catering brand of electric deep fryers that one should consider using is Roband. If gas is providing the heat Blue Seal or Cook-On are the only way to go.

1 Gallon is not huge, our Blue seal fryer has a 18lt capacity. 4-5 gallons.

I'll check back.

Benchtop versions are available.

Give you an idea of the quality of product you should look at if you have some serious frying to do.

I'd be inclined to check with your local fast food franchises and see which brand is recommended for heavy duty frying.

Benchtop versions are available, but generally don't have that capacity. 12ltrs is about the biggest I've seen.

What do you intend doing with it?

http://www.aaacommercialproducts.com/fryers.html seems to have a large range of them. Can't obviously comment on their durability.

Make sure there is no chance of water splashing near it. Get yourself a decent oil fire extinguisher and a fire blanket.

Checked mine, it's made by Masterbuilt, www.masterbuilt.com, model # is 20010306. It's big enough for a 12-14 pound turkey, to give you an idea of the size. The inner pot holds 28 quarts, but of course you'd never fill it up all the way. I used about 2.5-3 gallons of oil to fry a good sized whole chicken. The larger your food is, the less oil you'll need due to displacement
