Along the line of what they did over in the HLG forum I thought it might be a good idea to start collecting a list of all of the useful Free Flight links out on the web. The web is rich with free plans and information and it would be nice to have a collection in one place.

This link to an Australian site is a good start but I know that there are dozens more.
http://www.hotkey.net.au/~ue626/plans_web/web_plans.htm

If you know of any please share with us.

Thanks,
John:)

The Flying Aces Club has a new site, not many postings yet but let's see if we can change that, The FAC is the main driving force behind free flight scale models, here's the link. http://www.flyingacesclub.net/phpnuke/html/index.php

Here's a good one.

JCastle, your awesome! This is just what I've been waiting for! In addition to fueling my interests, you provided some valuable F1D resources I believe I can use for the Science Olympiad I may be participating in! I GREATLY appreciate it! Great idea! :D

theres a lot of materials in this free flight and rc hobby.

right now i'm into peanuts, dime scale, stick models, ministicks,
ezb, and trying to convert those little cars into rx plane.

i've just been into this hobby for a little over 2 months and
the closest hobbyshop doesnt even sell rubber bands.
most of the materials I have came from local department stores
besides the balsa. So my first scale models were covered in walmart tissue. i bought guillows sheet models for the balsa wood. then i went to the hobbyshop and picked up some 20lb / ft^3 1/32 next time i took some scales. my first ministicks, peanuts and and ezb are made with wood from guillows jet stream wood
and the ezb covered with that tissue from walmart that looks like
polymicro. funny eh. it flies really well considering. i guess i have gained experience. now that i have learned a little there are so many things scattered out at different shops. where is the best place for getting 4-6lb wood , quality rubber, covering material, gears for pager motors and n20s, props for rubber and electric( i can make these but it would be nice to get some to compare the performance) lithium polymer batteries, micro recievers (for guided rubber powered planes in this forum of course), etc...

here are some places to buy materials that Paul Bradley turned me on to.

A very good source for rubber and props is Peck Polymers. You
will find their web site at http://www.peck-polymers.com.

Lone Star balsa has a web site and provides very good wood
at a fair price. You will find them at http://207.8.138.183/index.shtml.

this one too
some pistachio plans there
http://indoorflying.uggy.org/

does anyone else know of any other pistachio plans?

i know you could just scale peanut plans down but i would like to
see more pistachio plans that poeple have designed for pistachio scale. i like small models they use less wood and i have lots of 1/32 sheet at the moment.

This site has some very nice W.W. I scale ff models. Nicely laser cut, excellent wood selection, all the bits and pieces (rubber, prop, tissue, wheels, vacuformed parts, etc.), and very reasonable prices for the quality...

I bought 5, and the only problem I faced was which to build first!

One of the best sources of free flight "stuff" is Aerodyne, a small company in California. They offer Pollyspan, Esaki tissue, silkspan, great nitrate and butyrate dope (both tightening and nontightening), kits of all sorts, plans, balsa, engines, etc. Try them at <www.freeflightmodels.com/index.html> and check it out.

Hi,

I posted this in the DF jets section originally however I was asked to see if I could post it here too.

I'm not the designer and I haven't built one of these fantastic Jets yet, I've left the designers details on the plan so if it causes a problem I can delete the file, it was scanned from a RCM mag sometime ago.

Anyone know of a source for D/T fuse or Tatone Timers?

Jack Womack

Try AeroDyne at: Correction! (http://www.freeflightmodels.com/index.html) just talked to Al Heinrich at the FF Champs. He said to use aerodyneal@aol.com

Campbell's Custom Models at: http://www.campbellscustomkits.com/ or

FAI Model Supply at: http://www.faimodelsupply.com/

I would recommend the larger Sig blue stripe fuse over the smaller red stripe if given a choice.

Tatone Timers or the similar KSB are no longer made, but some stock is still available.

New and better timers are available from: http://www.texastimers.com/

A matter of choice. I've been using the British-made red stripe fuse for over 50 years and find it very reliable, and consistent in burn speed.

Hi guys,

Just wanted you let you all know that REPLIKIT is back and with all the old keilkraft, veron, mercury, comet, skyleada, richard crossley and steve bage designs. The only difference is that we now own REPLIKIT and were not allowed to use teh keilkraft, mercury and veron names, so we have the RKK, RKVERO and RKMERC as the range. For example if you wanted a Keilkraft Eaglet you would get an RKK Eaglet.

Please visit www.replikit.com to view all these old kits available, not as print wood anymore but as either FULL LASER CUT KITS or SHORT LASER CUT KITS, i.e. plans and LASER CUT parts. This includes all the small flying scale, tru-flight ranges as full kits, most of the control line kits, gliders, rubber power and freeflight, more kits being added daily. You can also aquire hard copy plans and CD`s with 25 plans on each.

I hope that REPLIKIT will get the support that the original owners had so that we can bring these wonderfull kits back to you from our past.

Thank you for reading.

Mike.

DOES anybody know what happened to REPLIKITS??

Their website has abruptly disappeared from the Net. ?

Am worried they may have been clobbered by Amerang, and been sued for reproducing Keil Kraft and Veron kits.

Amerang claim to be the sole holders of the copyright for these old company titles.

As recommended by a few FF fans, I have sourced drawings for this easy build glider that reportedly flys very well - Article (http://www.modelaircraft.org/membersonly/archive/searchform.asp)
You merely type "mini catapult" in the search field, full size plans are on pg. 4 of the article (which handily covers building steps).

*EDIT - Check the download (http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=996561) of this glider here in FF. I re-sized the plans to proper scale and packaged the whole article in PDF.
