HEY GUYS! Here is my new edge 540 with dulsky mx 5090ca motor i got from jeff at vampro.. great guy , . it has e sky 60ecs and i am running 3 packs in series. 2- 3 cell 3700mha li-poly and 1- 2 cell 3700mah li-polytotal of 8 cells. all up flying weight is 8 lbs. now my ? is - the esc shows on it that of course it is 60amp-esc, but also says 23.2volts . now with just the 2-3 cell 3700 on it i am getting 25.2volts uping it to 8 cell will increse volts i would guess ? but the thing is, is that bench test shows that i am only at about 40amps full up. and with a 18x12 prop will be producing in the range of 1650watts. now should i be that concerned about the volts?? or will my set up still work?? here is my plane. thanks guys, matt james :)

It is up to you of course, but i wouldn't throw my kilobuck model in the air with the ESC beyond spec. Luckily you will have an onboard battery or UBEC for dead stick flying, but still, you could be hovering at 10 feet at the moment of failure.
I have just finished setting up a Fliton Edge 540T (58 inches, 6.5 pounds) and if i found the same thing about my ESC, i'd just unhappily set it aside and grab another from Vammy, Grayson Hobby or Balsa Products... wherever..
This 80 amp shows up to 10S and is just 75$

or Vammy's - DualSky 90A Brushless Escape, shows 10S, but out of stock

Matt-
Very nice plane.
I would'nt use that speed control. It could start on fire. Unless you check with the manufacture and find out they have it mislabled. The transistors that drive the motor need to be rated for the amount of voltage they will have across them. Otherwise they will short out.
