What kind of hull do you have in mind?
As a side note, nitro and gas are two different things and a lot of times, the difference in the size of the boats. The gas guys are a fickle bunch. To us fuel burners, gas is for getting to the race and nitro is for racing. :)

i bought a hawk 7.5 figured that i better try something that comes with plans and the wood and instructions before i try to build something just out of my head but when i do i was thinking somthing like this http://www.fralickboats.com/images/gallery/22_ash.jpg

If you want to get into gas and do some building how about trying out these guys.

http://www.bonzisports.com/

They make the hulls and sell all the HW for offshore type gas boats. Buying the hull premade makes life alot easier and the hull is tested to be a good handling boat. But by not buying a complete kit you can still build your own boat. Just a thought

The recommnded settings are just that, a starting point. depending on a lot of factors including temperature, himidity and altitude, your settings will differ.
