So I ordered some Futaba 3102's from servocity but they are on back order.
I dont want to touch Hitec stuff ever again so I am now looking at alternatives. THese will be for the v-tail on a JK thermic. I am thinking about some digital micro servos, S3154's, http://www.servocity.com/html/s3154.html , but I'm not sure 2 of them will have the power to work the tail on a 2.5m bird. I mostly fly slope and on one of my slope ships my answer would be NO!!. But on a thermal ship I wonder if little servos would be enough.
I would buy some JR 368's but I'm balking at the almost $70 price tag. Anybody have any info?

Probably not what you want to hear, but....
HS-65HBs have always worked great for me, and that's what I run in my 100inch (Bastardized) version of a Thermic. I know others have run the HS-55s with equal success on these size planes. On a true sized Thermic, you can probably run the HS-56HBs as well.
Just curious, what you got against HiTech Servos? Just about every pilot I know, uses them.

Thanks for the experience.
I think most people use HiTech servos but I'm tired of sending batches of them in for repair. In my opinion they have poor centering, poor resolution, and poor quality. I'm just ready for something that doesnt require so much maintenance.
Alot of guys gave up on hitec a while ago because of all the problems I have mentioned. That being said, I'm not throwing mine out, I'm just upgrading. I have had JR and Futaba's in the past and have loved them so I'm going back to them.
I love HiTech recievers though. Cant go wrong there.
Thanks for the info.

I'll second that. I use HS56's all around in my Castor (EP equivalent of the JK Thermic). So far, they have seen about 150 flights with no problems whatsoever, even with spolierons deployed at speed. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that HS55's would also work, but I don't think I'd use them in such a large glider.

I called servocity and changed my order to the 3154's. They have about the same torque as the 56's but they are digital so should have some nice resolution and they are blazing fast.
These should work the tail without problems.

Sounds good. Let us know how they work out.
