Someone races one at our club and it looks fine. Also worth looking at the Team Associated RC10 T3 RTR kit. We have one and it is fine.

The T3 or Lossi stadium trucks are what the pros use and if you just want to play around, you r gonna want to race latter on so look into what they use and save up if needed
Good luck

I highly reccomend the Associated RC10GT RTR Plus. Parts availability is second to none and they are very tough and fast. I've owned and abused dozens of r/c cars over the past 20 years and this has been the best.

If you're gonna bash, I recommend the Traxxas Rustler over the XXX-T and T3. The parts are thicker so they can take more abuse and Traxxas has the best Customer Support out of all R/c Car manufactuers. If you are gonna race later on, you might want to go with a XXX-T or wait for the T4 to come out ..

The Rustler is awesome. I do alot of jumping, but the Rustler can take all of it. It is a good bashing truck

The rustler seems pretty tough, from the ones I have seen.

Add a mod motor, 7 cell batery, and stock speed control and you have a rustler that will keep up or beat the t3/t4 in almost stock condition. i don't know how it handles the Losi

yodog 1, are you talking about the mechanical speed control? I have wondered how this compares to the Electronic one. Thanks, tt, Hi Matt. :)

i've got a rustler. its pretty nice. maybe not the fastest, but it is really good for people who want to crash it. Friend has a rc10, and he was always breaking the steering arms off.i'd go with rustler, but then upgrade to better car if you race

you MUST get an ESC. The mechanical ones are not good. They are slow compared to the esc's and i have burned out like 3 of them. it pays to get an esc.

im running stock XL-1 ESC
After almost a year of 3 doses of abuse i finally need to replace the factory bushings in the axle carriers and steerind blocks. other than that id sugest TRAXXAS Part Number 1996X (aluminum idler gear) cause if you run a motor or gear ratio that provides lots of acceleration and will lift the front end like i do. it is still a good idea to replace it early. im going to do it to my stampede next week. IT IT THE ONLY ITEM I SUGEST YOU REPLACE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. i know several people that have rusties that WILL outrun the RC10GT. that is fast. the GT tops at about 38mph. There rusties run atleast 40mph. they may be "slow"to start but with about $150.00 it hauls ass.

Your running stock with a 7 cell, what motor are you running in it?

it is a trinity ruby can with a 27 turn single wrap armatuer, ball bearings, upgraded brushes, and, soon to come, heatsinks. i also run a 25 tooth pinion gear. it runs much faster and doesnot get as warm as stock.

Being ignorant, could you tell me if I am wrong, the 25 tooth gear means higher top end, whereas a gear with less teeth would mean more torque, less speed? Thanks, tt.

your right. bigger pinion= greater top speed unless spur changes to keep gear ratio close to stock. my setup though lets me get away with the lowered acceleration rates, cause it will catch what ever it wants in the straits except in the corners it has a tendancy to kick its ass out, but i recover quite easily.

This is sounding like too much fun, like I need to buy two, one for me and one for my son! :D
He beats me at all the video games except one (the ancient Diddy Kong Racing-- I rule) So maybe I would have a chance with these, especially if I did hop-ups to mine, but not to his, or maybe he would think the same way . I am a good dad! tt

That's nice, I was thinking of my best friend growing up today, and I haven't seen him in 25 years. We were buddies, and you never forget those. I shot him in the butt with a pellet gun once, and he forgave me, just like brothers. tt (it was an accident)

last time with his former T3 i totally sabotaged it and he knew it. that was the only fight we ever got into. wait no there was the one over me kissing his girlfriend who dumped him for me, but that is a different story.
