hi everybody, i ordered a lot of 2 megatech hydro fly, one of them was in good condition other was not, i took teh electronics out of it and thought to build something, a piece of hydro fly's front part looks like a hull. i'm trying to turn that into a boat, the hull would be 8 inches long ,and all teh electronics weigh 100grams. will that work, will it sink or not, should i use the fan pusher design or normal underwater propeller, what king of propeller do i need, i mean the size.the plane goes fast on water with his fan pusher, i need a fast boat, i think it could do about 12mph, could it? thanks, please help me, please tell me if i forgot something important. thanks
here are the pics of the hull

ihor14448,
I think you may have a problem. Center of gravity comes to mind with a 'fan' type motor, I think it might tend to 'fall over' a lot, maybe? And considering the shape/volume of the proposed hull, that 12 mph thingy might be a little optimistic. Not that it can't be done, I just don't have the slightest idea how (unfortunately, I run into that 'not knowing how' thingy quite often).
Good luck!

If you keep the stabilizer behind the pusher motor you should be OK (It doesn't have to move). Basically just take the outer wings off so it won't fly. Less drag so it should go faster than the plane could taxi.
If you're talking about using only one of the hulls it may not do so good.
Good Luck!

i tried doing the fan boat, but th eback is too heavy and there is no plane to put the steering rudder because or teh big prop.
i have a damaged body on my other hydrofly, but the skis are all good, what if i connect the skis to the sides, could that work, and what is my major problem, the plane itself can easly reach 12mph on water, would'nt it be better with the underwater prop, and the boat is onna be lighter. please tell me what is missed
