I currently make my own hardware for myself. For the rudders I use a combo of Aluminum and Titanium. Turn fins and trim tabs are aluminum.
Todate I have hit turtles, fish and a gator. The Titanimun rudder is great, no problems with dents or dings and no need to rework.
The hardware currently does not have a water pick up due to the boats I run. Since airboats are air cooled no need for th pick up.

Please comment with suggestions GOOD or BAD.

Tidy. If I can get anywhere near that standard I will be a happy lad. How is the titanium to work with?? I have never thought of using anything like that, is it hard to obtain?

Ti is a little hard to work with. It just takes a little more time to cut than say Stainless steel. The real work come in the finishing. It takes 10 times longer to get it fully polished than Aluminum.

The reason I use it.. After going to many impba events I keep noticing how beat up their rudder blades got. The more dings the more friction and so on. So far the Ti show no signs of wear.

Is it hard to obtain. No, Do a google search in your area. The only bad thing is that it is expensive.

Thanks for the kind words. Andy
