Hey Gents and Ladies (salute to Captain Sunshine),
I am looking for a photo or photos of a gulf coast Lugger Tug out of the water. We had a couple of them working up here and there is some interest in modeling Luggers. I have been tasked to make a plug so we can do glass hulls. I have dimensions of several boats so I will do a average size in half inch scale 60' = 30". I need to see the hull lines. If anybody has an idea where I can lay hands on hull lines and a table of offsets I promise to name somebody's baby after you.
For those not familiar with the type a Lugger tug is/was used in the GOM for servicing oil rigs They have superstructures very similar to river trip boats. It is set well back to give a large fore deck. Hull is model bow and square stern. Length runs from 50' to 70'. Twin screw 500 - 1000 HP average. Here in Milwaukee Kadinger Marine used their Ruffy J Kadinger to move coal barges upriver to the power plant. Durocher Dredge & Dock had their Meaghan Beth here doing breakwater repair. This was a few years ago. Both boats are now gone. So are Durocher and Kadinger.
Remember: If your not a submariner keep it on top.
