Thanks guys, all the boats are from Dumas kits. The Capris are made from the Cobra kits, 1/8 scale. 28" in length.

Green Boat I knew you would recognize the waters. One is at Suson Park, one at Union and another at Washington. Thanks guys, I want to share a few more.

Tim Slocum is not far from you, he's over in New Haven.

I think in early/ mid July there is a HamFest at the Washington Park/ Fairgrounds that I try to go to. I will have to get the exact date but maybe we 3 can get together and run the boats in the morning.

Toesup, yes, I'm looking for drivers, how tall are you?
Green-Boat, I'm back in St. Louis again. I don't have anything running right now, but will work on something. Did you know Suson Park has a no fishing lake that I'm sure we can run boats on. Dave from Schaeffer's Hobby said he'd like to run sometime also.

I run my boats primarily at Washington, but I've run them a few times at Union.Only once, have I encountered another rc boater. It was some guy with a WalMart boat, who was having his dog fetch it. The only time I get to run with other boats is at the St Louis regatta. :( I've always wanted to find some local rc boat guys to run with.I think we should get together, it would be fun :D Greenboat, what exact day is that Ham radio thing? Ill check my calendar.Right now,the Bismarck is in drydock, needs an additional esc and Y harness, and the runabout needs a smaller prop installed(motor gets too hot),so my only runable boat is the VacUTug "Sara Anne".

We're trying to start an extended Admiral's Running Boat Club in south St. Louis, Suson shouldn't be a problem, just a short walk to the lake. Maybe we'll all run sometime in the fall.

Hee hee, check out the "Breyer" line sold at 'better' toy stores- reasonable looking 'dolls' that scale well for 1/8... not too expensive and poseable so they can fit in the boats-

I was out there last Saturday evening with my little one with 2 boats. I did notice that there was nobody fishing on that back lake and thought that was kind of strange considering the number of fishermen out there. That explains it. Next time I go there I need to remember to top off the charge on the transmitter. It's not a pretty sight seeing a 5 year old cry and trying to explain to him that dad forgot.

A short walk to the lake, WOW  you are close.

It's on a Sunday, I will get the exact date but it is something like the first or second full weekend in July. I used to get to the Hamfest when it first opened but as I get older 5:30 AM is just way tooooo early.

Yes, I might have "shorten" the walk, but, when there is just nothing else out there to choose from, a couple hundred yards isn't that bad. Especially when nobody bugs you. LOL.

It is when your carrying a 6' battleship! Ha,Ha,Ha...just kidding.

I like the lake at Washington,MO,because theres a nice place to launch from(boat ramp),parking 30' from the lake, the scenery is nice, and the spectators are usually polite.I do understand what you mean about nobody bothering you, because sometimes you do get an irritating spectator or two.And sometimes you just want to be alone with your boats. :)

Recognition and encouragement from fellow scale modelers is a major feature of these forums. We all enjoy some attaboys from people who understand what it takes. Then there are those that go way, way beyond basic scale modellling and machine their own running six cylinder engines, etc. :D

Bluezephyr, Very nice pair of models; the hardtop Commander is an interesting variation. Careful there, you might start a trend among Commander builders. :)
