I want to teach my grandson to fly. I have several Airtronics TX with the round trainer port plug. Is there a cable that will connect the Airtonics (Champship) transmitter to JR /Spektrum trainer stero plug. If not is there a diagram to make one. How about using the 3 pin DSC connector to a stero plug for the JR stero trainer port to Airtonics DSC?

Airtronics and Spektrum/JR transmit the controls on different channels so although you could connect the two you'll then find that the Airtronics elevator stick controls the throttle and vice versa. You could design a lead with a microcontroller (PIC etc) in to swap the channel signals but it's a fair amount of work.
Much easier to just get a cheap JR TX.

Ok now I will have to find a JR TX. I think they will be hard to find.

Probably not. Try the swap shop here on RCGroups. I just saw a JR transmitter there a few days ago. The other option is to try asking at the local hobby shop or club field. Many times guys will have an extra radio sitting around unused for one reason or another.
