Here is a new (to me) gadget that may be an easy path to lost plane recovery. Good to 600 feet away, it says, and costs about $100. Weight not revealed but only 1-1/4 inch long. Anybody used one yet? Comments?

they look great
Our club is thinking of buying one main unit, and asking members to voluntarily purchase the individual "button" units to put in their planes.

The button weighs about 1.5 grams very light and the size of a postage stamp that is 1/4 inch thick really nice will fit in my Thorn and no problem in almost any plane doesnt take up any room at alll! Jimmy

the unit with two buttons is 9995 and each two more buttons are forty bucks for two The receiver is the size of a normal i Pod and works (on the ground) in preliminary tests very well Plus in the website it says you can find your lost kids keys and airplanes so I think they have proven to many fliers that they work I gotr turned on to the Locator8 from Andreas Mengner in New york as he had problems with trees and the beeps which these have also couldnt be heard way up in the trees so this thing has thre lines in an expanding grid and you just point the thing towards the plane and the longest line on the screen you follow till you get right on it and then it beeps well worth the 99 bucks Jimmy
