Hey guys. I usually stay on the smaller side of the hobby(park and some bigger electrics) but my Long EZ 380 is so much fun to fly I figure the biggun must be the same, plus it has functional rudders and wheelpants and a 94" ws. I have a Hacker B50-11XL set-up to run on 8s 4200 16c lipos and most of the servos to go ahead with this project if time and money allow. Since they're is a IMAA event at out field in September, I'm really considering this bird. Let me know if you've flown it or saw it fly etc. Thanks- Kyle

The Dualsky XM6360CA-12 would light this thing up.
Im thinking a Vampower 10S4500 or 10S5000?
I love planes like that....kinda odd and all.

hey again Vammy, I thought about it and still might do it with my set-up listed although the 55" 120 Ultimate will come first. Gotta get another job which I'll start soon since right now I can't even sell enough to buy the arf and convert it.

Mustang,
If you did run your B50-XL on something like this, what gear drive and prop would you use?
I've got a B50-10XL sitting idle and have flown one these. It had a the OS 1.60 on a 16 x something 3 blade prop. It was really awesome sounding and flew like it was on rails. The fuel tank was not very big so we were looking to land after 6min.
A couple of things were needed to get it to work though.
- Use however amount of weight necessary to balance it. I think we were about 1/2 back from what the manual stated and it flew great. Not touchy at all. Would not have hesitated to move it back a little more.
- Make sure you add more up thrust on the engine or it'll be difficult to rotate on take off and won't like to climb. We had something like 4 washers under each bottom engine mount bolt.
- Seal the hinge line on the canards or they may feel sluggish right when you need the control.
This would be an awsome electric project. I might get the .60 size for something to tool around with.
