I have a hangar P-51 Miss America. I am installing a new 7 ch. JR radio in. I have been away from the hobby for a few years and I have decided to get back into it. My kids are older now and I have the time to spend. One thing I have noticed in all the pictures in the magazines is the receiver antena you dont see in any of the pictures of the plane's. Is this typical now? Is the antenna being left inside the fuselage now. Can I run my antena in my plane and it not be noticed. When I was flying a few years ago You had to run the antenna out the top of fuselage to the stab. I always hated doing that. I thought it took away from the looks of a plane.

Everyone has a different opinion or superstition on how to avoid interference.

I like to try and mount the Rx close to where the antenna exits the fuse. Any wire routed inside on the way out is either shrinkwrapped or insulated in fuel line and never touching any other electronic or linkage.

On Warbirds I like to route the antenna, like the real deal, out from behind the canopy to attach to the rudder. My Rx is always close to where it comes out of the fuse. I dont think anyone is running internal antennas exept for the 2.4ghz Spectrum radios which have hardly any antennas at all.

That's how I'm running my antenna on my H9 Spit. I also want to improve the appearance of the tailwheel assembly, the H9 looks naked. I also added guns to my Spit. Little things enhance the overall appearance. ;)
