I am toying around with getting an F3B style winch for "winched F3J" use and maybe full on F3B down the road. Does anyone know of a site with reviews of various prebuilt F3B winches? Any North American manufacturers of these winches?
Anyone with experience with the WinchNZ units?

Not reviews as you requested, but the manufacturer of the Trinitus has a section of his web site devoted to winches. That page provides links to many manufacturers (albeit skipping over the WinchNZ product).
Take a look: http://www.gliders.dk/winches.htm
Apart from the project Dave Hauch coordinated with a machine shop to have ~ 6 winches fabricated the other year, I know of no "manufacturer" of F3B winches in N. America. Dennis Phelan in the northeast corner of the U.S. has manufactured winches for his own use, and Rich Speroni in California fabricated winches for West Coast pilots going to the F3B WC's some years back.

The poster winch looks like a great Deal. I have been speaking with Dave Hauch lately about building some more winches for F3B.
I know that the US team prefers the Swede Winch over all others.

gidday basher...the winchnz are very good winches....a lot of the guys use them down here in new zealand for f3b....we took about 5 of them to the f3b worlds in germany a couple of years ago ...them pack nice and compact aswell.....dave james builds them very nicely....there are a lot of different winches out there like the swed winch, few from germany ,and airstrike ones aswell......just depends on how much you want to spend...all of the winches have to be regulatored to a set resistance to be legal for f3b comps anyway.....cheers craig

I have a WinchNZ F3B winch from David James...very nice unit and breaks down small enough to fit in a large tool box for storage/carriage.

I really like my f3x.com f3x style winch. I'm not sure it Tom has any more of these in stock though.
