I have an old ACE Nautical Commander and don't know what the band/freq/channel is. Can you look at the pic of the crystal out of the transmitter and tell me what it is?
Thanks

Get a hold of a frequency scanner if a buddy has one. If not, you can buy one cheap:

Turn on your radio and it will tell you what channel it is on.

Hoghappy,
Looks like a crystal cut for the 75 Mhz band and used in a frequency "doubling" circuit ('IF stage' of the transmitter). If you multiply the 15.150 by 5, it ends up somewhere close to 75.75 Mhz. That's without knowing any of the other characteristics of the particular transmitter being used, which doesn't really tell you much (and my not knowing the channel frequencies for 75 Mhz doesn't tell you much either!). This whole idea is sort of 'old fashion' considering the newer technology available now (old or not, it does work!). Most crystal companies are familiar with various radio systems characteristics so can tell you more about what channel it's for, or replace the crystal. Asking the manufacturer of the radio is the 'best' way to find out, but since it's "ACE", I sort of think you're out of luck there. Not much help, sorry 'bout that.

75.750 MHz is Channel 78.

You can usually get support for Ace equipment if you contact FMA Direct. The principal (Fred Marks) designed the Ace radio systems.
