No such beast, be warned also that you will likely suffer a sever thrashing if folks here think your are trying to circumvent the dongle.

Do you own a copy of Phoenix and are looking for the Esky Tx adapter, if so here is the link for it ...

http://www.ekmpowershop4.com/ekmps/shops/phoenixrc/index.asp?function=DISPLAYPRODUCT&productid=5

If you have a 'borrowed' copy of Phoenix, you may want go ahead and back out of this thread, or do the right thing and purchase a legal copy of Phoenix.

If you do a search of this forum you will find that all of the top sims use hardware protection to prevent exactly the sort of thing you have tried.

i got a friend that bought phoenixrc too, and there is no way to make it work without the hardware dongle.

It's outlaw speak about dongles emulators in that forum,

You can use crack's and dongle emulator downloaded from emule or any p2p but don't speak about how bad guy you are in a forum, there are rules that you should not break.

And no, you will not find it bcos it don't exist (yet)

remember: follow the rules or you will be baned.

bye,

While keeping the hw protection, Phoenix should add the following features:

1. If the original dongle is connected (as hw protection device), allow the use of any other windows joystick, like the Esky usb dummy radio

2. The original dongle should work as a normal usb sim cable to serve for other programs, not just Phoenix

I really like the USB dongle that comes with Reflex.. It can be used with any other program as a standard joystick, but Reflex itself doesn't support any other joystick then whats connected to the usb dongle, but thats the sim, not the dongle...

mmorta i doubt #1 will ever happen. it opens quite a large hole in the armour apparently

#2 would be nice but i would think its quite a long way down the to do list.

wallaquest did you ever actually buy and fly phoenix? last i saw you had a dodgy copy and no dongle so could only view videos. hardly a realistic way oftesting a sim. Not to mention illegal.

is your aerofly pro deluxe illegal too?

:) - probably not, seeing as he can't get a crack / hack for Phoenix (yet !)

Why should it.

The idea of the interface is to allow a transmitter's PPM signal stream to be encoded so that it works with its associated software. All the other sims that support a standard windows joystick are not in the same league as Phoenix.

Sometimes I use some other simulators, like SSS or MS FS, and dont like too much replacing the cables. I agree that this feature is not the most important one, however why not add it to the list... This modification doesnt hurt in any way the security of the dongle, and probably easy to do it, so... ;)

About the 1st:
I think it can be done without making a security hole.
The idea:
- a driver receives the standard windows joystick input, and sends the external joystick data to the dongle
- the dongle encrypts this data to the current format
I think this additonal option is not less secure as the current solution.

With most PC's having 4, 5, 6 or even 8 USB ports why would there be a need to keep replacing cables. If you prefer to have something on the desktop so you don't have to crawl under the desk and fish about around the back of the PC then look at using a USB hub and place it next to the monitor.

Now what would be cool would be something like a two part dongle that uses bluetooth or wireless technology. Plug one part into any of the PC's USB ports, and the other into the trainer port on the back of the TX. This would remove all leads and be especially good for those who feed the graphics card output into large LCD TV's but don't have the PC in the same location (mine is at the other end of the room from my TV !)

That's what I do, I have a USB hub and have two driving setups and two RC (RF2 and Phoenix) plugged in all the time.

Get a wireless USB hub like the WiRanger from Icron.

Get a wireless USB hub like the WiRanger from Icron.

Can't seem to find a UK distributor, but with a price tag of $395 it sure would make siming expensive

The Belkin Cable-Free USB is about half that price. Interstingly, it uses the Freescale chips which are used in RC 2.5 radios.

Okay, I need a translation/interpretation for the word 'brill'. :)

Okay, I need a translation/interpretation for the word 'brill'. :)

Brill is a village in Buckinghamshire, England, close to the border with Oxfordshire. It is situated about four miles north west of Long Crendon, seven miles south east of Bicester. Although it is still in possession of a Royal charter to hold a weekly market on account of its prestigious history (see below), the village hasn't hosted such an event in years.

Possibly it's code for where Ade actually wants to live...or where they develop Phoenix.... hmmmmmmm ...
