Guitarmania (http://www.cleveland.com/guitarmania/) is returning to downtown Cleveland this year. The 9 foot high Fender Stratocaster guitars will be displayed during the summer. Several have a nautical theme to them, and I hope they make miniature versions for sale.

So you don't like boats on guitars. Here's a guitar boat, and a picture of the CLIFFS VICTORY.

Now THATS a boat (the freighter too) - lol!

What I wasn't going to say was that those had to be the ugliest guitars I've ever seen.

You know, if that guitar was a bass instead of an acoustic... it could be a 'bass-boat'... ooo, forget I even thought that! ... or if it had 4 string instead of 6? lol

Growing up on the Hudson River in the '40s and '50s I remember running our boat up to Haverstraw Bay and there were many Libery ships moored there side by side in moth balls I imagine. They were a bit shorter than that one. During the Korean War we'd see some being towed down toward NYC, I imagine to the Brooklyn Navy Yard, to be refitted and used transporting stuff to Asia. I don't know what happened to most of them.

Oooh---. I don't know how CG Bob picked the subject material here, as I know he doesn't drink or smoke funny stuff, but it makes me wonder---. ;)

Those guitars are butt-ugly though---.

Der Kapitan,
Your elegant assessment of the guitars esthetics was, to coin a phrase, right on. :)

Oh the subject of guitars and boats, I'd love to do the Astoria one day as an RC project... I can just imagine the sound system now....

From an absolute layman-noobie perspective, I reckon that guitar boat is not particularly conducive to good hydrodynamics... What say the more knowledgeable sailors on here?

Besides I much prefer a cigarette boat to a guitar boat.... and I don't smoke! ;)
