Thanks... Its very different than trying to take pics of Planes...

The water reflections/ripples were hard on the DOF and the autofocus was lost leaving me to manual focus all day.. a great lesson though. A few more trips out and i think i can get some good ones...

Now i just need to snag up a boat... almost bought a Miss Vegas today.. but i think im gonna go electric with something like the SuperVee.

Try using a UV Filter and a Polarizer and the reflection of teh eater will be greatly reduced.

Great action shots as they are...

A UV filter will improve the colours slightly and take out some of the 'blue' hue.
A polarizer will take out some of the reflections from the water bvut will slow your shutter speed / aperture combination down so you may end up with some bluuuury shots. :o

If you can (depends on your camera) try putting it in to 'Action' mode (if its a point and shoot) or Continuous AF and 'Hi' Programme and also 'Spot focus / exposure' (if you can) if its an SLR.

Practice panning too, that helps on fast moving subjects. Also take lots of shots... even seasoned Pro's miss that 'decisive moment' now and then.. :censored:

Some of your shots are rather good as they are by the way.. ;)

Cleaned some up and adjust them...

My setup is fairly basic... Nikon D50 with Quantaray 70-300mm.
