from what i can see, washer sits on shaft by tube, dog pushes against washer, prop locks onto dog, nut pushes prop against dog, that i think looks like what you have tried to draw, and i think you got it right

I like to slip a small piece of silicon fuel hose over the last few threads of the propshaft. It acts as a keeper to reduce the chance of losing the nut.
