Found this in Lowe's the other day for $1.47. Possible motor mount with the addition of some anti-vibe rubber lining???

Cool. Can you remove the cap, or is it one-time-use?

Top piece has release tabs on both sides. Three holes in bottom for mounting options.

When 'Lowes' has a run on those things they'll wonder what the @#$$ is going on.

Found the Touchdown and Touchdown II at Lowes.
The smaller one closes down to about 7/16", goes up to about 1-1/8", just right for a 380/400 size motor. Has a single screw hole for mounting.

The big one will hold a 700 motor and bigger, goes down to about 9/16", has 2 screw holes.

Problem with these, and with any ratchet type device- the ratchet is either loose, or the whole thing needs to be overstressed to get to the next ratchet that will make things tight enough (achieve some "preload"). There is some flex, so I was able snug them down, but the motors could still be moved with some effort. Problems- you have to press down harder to get there than many model structures will allow ("crack!"). Also, once snugged down that far, the ratchet is a bear to release.

Maybe with some rubber wrapped around the motor, like Waxer suggested, it would work.

What we really need is these same things but with threaded adjustment.

Big and bulky. I don't like it, personally.

They already have what you want Pat. Antenna mast u-clamp mounts:

Almost! Just need the saddle on the bottom to mount to the "floor", with the studs sticking up for access...

I would glue a hardwood block to the floor. Wide enough that it sits between the nuts. Then screw the clamp base to the hardwood block. Now you could insert the "U" and secure the nuts as it would be elevated off the floor.

A lot of motor mounts in the combat club are just a block of wood drilled, or
slotted across the bottom. The block is then epoxied to the bottom of the boat.

To hold the motor in place on the block, plastic "Zip Ties" are used.
If you want to pull the motor out, cut the zip ties.
If you are ready to put the motor back in,... new zip ties.
