I am curious as to why people use polycarbonet paints on the car bodies. I have experimented with Krylon and for the last 3 months not a chip or peel and I have had some hard hits. for the price it can,t be beat.

People use polycarbonate/Lexan-compatible paint because that's what marketing and advertising told them to do.

AND because it works well.

I use Faskolor paints for a few reasons...

I airbrush, so water-based is the way to go most of the time.

It's water based, so mistakes can easily be fixed with a sponge and some water

And, they have a wicked variety of colors, so its just easy to pick up what you want and "paint awy"!

But you are somewhat right, i do tend to back my paintjobs with a tripple coat of Krylon white, to brighten the paintjob, and it is rather sturdy.

Krylon is some awesome stuff, I build a lot of 1/24 plastic models and often larger and smaller scales as well Krylon has been good to me, I am going to get a nice airbrush set up soon and I am going to try and either suck the paint from the cans of Krylon or give Faskolor a shot something that cleans up easy more then likely..

Hey all the airbrusher's out there, my Uncle brought this stuff home from work last night "Home Depot" can I use this to clean my airbrush up as far as the tips, needles, etc go?? Without worry about damaging anything such as O-rings etc??

It will work fine and shouldnt cause any damage to your airbrush, but i generaly use denatured alchohol to clean mine, it evaporates much easier!

Denat alc, is great stuff, you should be able to find it easily @ homedepot. Thats the stuff that is used in NitroBlast cleaner, you can buy it by the gallon like that, and just clean your car off with it in a spray bottle. Much cheaper.

What would be a good starter airbrush kit. I have painted a few bodies before but with spray paint.

I am spraying my new basher body with Plasti Dip.

I almost eliminates all cracks and holes.
