The format here is different - the following will help guide you through it.
Each topic has two threads - Gallery and Discussion. The Gallery threads are 'Stickies' to keep them up front.
The goal is to have a place where RCAP is showcased as a useful tool for these types of research projects. There will be two threads started with any new thread. One will be for the originator to post research, story's, pictures, descriptions or anything that pertains to the thread topic. To keep the thread as a functional and concise document, the originating author will be asked to lock the thread after every new post. Both threads will have a link to each other in the first post for quick reference between the two. This is to allow unlimited discussion in one thread without disrupting the information thread.
This forum has evolved over the months. Many who post on this forum have done considerable research. Some of the Gallery threads are an ongoing narrative of a project that will take years to complete. This is a place to share your information on Science, History, Exploration or similar. This should leave a fairly broad topic allowance. We expect to see subjects ranging from:
Ancient Ruins
Forestry
Ghost towns
Geology
Exploration
Search and Rescue
Agriculture
Fisheries
Archeology
Wildlife
To name but a few topics.
Please title every thread in a very clear and concise manner. You must include the category, main topic and location. A few examples might look like,
History, Roman Ruins, Turkey,
Science, Arches Park, Utah,
The CATEGORY column is important.
'Gallery'- On going or completed project
'Mini-How T0' - Methods of general interest
'Discussion' - Discussion related to 'Build Log' or 'Mini-How To'
'Data' - Forum related material
In the first post of your 'Gallery' thread, insert a link to the corresponding 'Discussion' thread.
Tou will notice that the above format is not followed religiously by all posters. Well that's life. We are more interested in content than format. However, don't be surprised if your post is edited a bit to bring it in line.
You get the idea. If in doubt ask one of the moderators. There will be some variations allowed if the topics stay within the frame work of the Forum. Give this time to grow and we'll work out the details as we move along. Please be patient with respect to things that don't fit. We don't wish to replicate the existing AP forum so we would like to keep the artistic pictures, build threads etc in their rightful place.
Add any comments, feedback, questions or topics you would like to see to this thread.
Thank you and enjoy
