I have for years used the folowing method to test C/G proof models. Mostly i build a profile balsa sheet glider 1/4 to1/3 size. I ues a spring binder clip for adjustable balist. Often i test them inside of our repair shop,if ican get the cars and harleys out of the way ihave 90 x50 ft. open space. To launch them i use a rubberband slingshot board. Board is 36" x5" with 12" of sig 1/8" contest rubber tacked at one end. Ihave found this method takes alot less time to pin down C/G location because by pulling the model back to the same mark every time all launchs are the same. Sofar this method allowed me to find accurate C/G for some realy strange looking and oddly configured planes that when built to full size at least the C/G was ok.We wont talk about my dumb thumbs or some of the odd flight habits some of them had. But what the hell at least the first time ther was daylight under the wheels the C/G was right its a start.

Sound plan I'd say.

Besides, chuck gliders are fast and fun..

Sorry from USA Idont quite have a handle on this web stuff yet.Vintage1 why not log on to my blog at rcgroups and we can speakj more dirrectly on C/G and edf Maney thanks for being the first to replle to me P/S check my bloge at rc groups for current modle in prototype form E.D.F for 2 hyperflow fans let me know how the beast looks in 1/3 size. 1/3 rd. size proves out as per my C/G tests .I have at times a fair ammount of room in shop to allow 3-4 seconds of glide tests. The beast will when in groung effect go nose high and settle in nicley.
