So the free gift is what? Free shipping?

I'm confused. Are you really saying you would normally charge me $48 for shipping?

YIKES!!!!

WOW, I went far enough with an order to find shipping on a Trex 450se (older version). Shipping is over $60. I can get the same heli from folks like techmodelproducts delivered for MUCH cheaper and get useful free stuff.

You know I probably should have said nothing. The shipping costs simply caught my eye and I knee jerk reacted. I've often wondered if some people think I'm dumb enough to only look at the sell price and totally ignore the total cost shipped. Yea, free shipping is nice for some items but don't make up the loss by charging the rest of us horrid shipping costs. Some over seas companies can ship to the US at prices not much more than US shippers, get it here quick, and still sell for a very good price up front.

Oh well, I said my peace. Best of luck to all and I wish the best to this new company. If they get their shipping costs in line I'll still consider ordering from them but for now I'll pass.

So for around $200 you get a heli, motor, battery, speed controller, servos, and no gyro. Compare this to a TREx that you can get for $300 with a gyro. I guess it all depends on how good a heli it is...

Shipping from china or hongkong isexspensive. They usualy ship by air so it only takes 2 weeks. If they shipped by boat it would be way cheaper but it might take 6 weeks or somthing nutty.

Shipping is via EMS

3.25 lbs is $27.99. I guess the extra $33 is to pay the expensive labor needed to put it in the expensive outer box. ;)

I wonder if the $88 x400 is a real "Arc" or a knockoff?

UPDATE: I apologize if I sound negative. This may be the best company ever and the $88 deal sure is inviting. I keep thinking of the old phrase if it is too good to be true and I don't like gimmicks like free gifts and cheap prices only to find out that the normal shipping hoses you or worst that what you get is poor quality knockoffs. Time will tell. If someone orders please let us know what you think. As for me I'm thinking of trying them with the "free" trex stuff. The parts are not worth much more if any than the shipping fees but it will be a cheap way to find out how they ship.

BTW, I did note something funny (to me anyway). There is a page that shows how you get discounts by collecting points. The discount rate is shown and but worded wrong. What it says is that when you make it to the first level your discount is "100%". Now that I like :p :p

:) I think most guys will pay attention to the shipping cost ,it is very normal.
How much the shipping fee will be needed pivots on more than one factor. It depend on shipping method ,weight and the bulk.
So if you want to purchase a plane or a heli you need to choose the most expensive shipping method--EMS .This method is very fast and very safty.
But if your order doesnt include these big items you may choose the other shipping method---Airmail.It is very very cheap and you will receive your package in two weeks. http://www.elemodel.com/shop/index.php?gOo=article_details.dwt&articleid=12

Today was the maiden for the arkx400 ccpm. Being on a budget, I used some gws naro bb servos I had never really used. A gws pg-03 gyro, and gws 6 channel receiver, and a phoenix 25 esc. I carefully installed and adjusted all the gear, balanced the flybar/head assy, tail and main blades. I could not improve on the factory balance of the main blades. Tracking was pretty close, but could use a slight tweek.Of course the gyro was upside down, and made a quick piro the first time it tried to lift off  . I sorted the gyro position out and had another go. This time it lifted right up,but drifted back and left quickly. A little fiddling, and it now just tourques left on liftoff. My first impression is that it's very stable, but quite responsive(to me at least).
I just made some short hovers,a little fore/aft,left right, and quit while some batteries charged, and to make a couple linkage adjustments.. Since I already had all the batteries, esc, etc.,this seems to make a nice addition to my fleet.
All in all, it was a great day,and a great maiden flight.
I would like to express my thanks to ELEmodels team,AAAproducer, and most of all "Kiki" for all her help.

The promotion only ran thru the end of May. In the post this is clearly stated. Sorry you missed out,I got mine set up properly, and it is soo stable, and smooth.Even with the cheap pg-03 gyro, tail control is good, you just have to fly the tail a little. I'm no 3D pilot, just mild sport flying.Tonite I flew two packs in the backyard a light 6-8 mph breeze with no problems at all. I'm pretty impressed for $88.00,it is very predictable, and responsive. I also have a blade cp,an eskycp2,a couple of lama v3's,a firefox pixy, and an esky honeybee fixed pitch. Of them all,I like the ark x400 the most, then the honeybee.I don't fly the lamas much anymore, and I never really liked the blade,or eskycp.I think I will like the firefox if I get some decent servos in it.
I feel lucky to have gotten this heli at the price I paid, and my hat is off to elemodels,AAAproducer, and "Kiki" ;)
