MM2001 CNC Controller...

So I have an old one of these I put together in '02, and it's been sitting since then... I'm working on making sure it's all running, but am having two issues so far:

1) the LX motor (M4) sometimes doesn't spin as it should but just sort of goes a step forward and back. Swapping the 2804's doesn't move the problem, moving the motor doesn't move the problem.

2) When it's all going, and you press the arrows to move them in GMFC, they seem to alternate the speed they are turning at.

Any ideas/suggestions?

figured it out -

1) loose solder joint on a resister on that channel.

2) Windows XP sucks ... the timer is all over the place, dropped back to 98 and all works great.
