Does anyone do jet drives? I have searched high and low and I am beginning to think that there is something wrong with jet drives because i have had no luck. Anyways i am looking to convert my H&M TITAN to a jet drive power system. I have a Hacker B-50L. Just trying to do something different than the same old prop driven thing. Can anyone furfill me with the knowledge to do so or at least send me in the right direction. PLEASE! If you guys can help me out I promise to post a very neto video of my jet drive TITAN drifting around at 50+ for yall.

theres nothing wrong with them....they are just slower that a propped boat would go, but they add a large amount of performance, you can literally turn on a dime at WOT.

heres a thread about a villain turned to jet boat

http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_4549478/tm.htm

you will get alot of tips from reading this

heres a good website to find a jet drive

they are called KMB jet drives

http://www.jet-drive.de/vg_server/custom/frameset.php?generateID=1&pageTitle=Kehrer-Modellbau&language=0

this is the 28mm version (the one used on the villain is the same size, but a different model (i think its a graupner))

hope that helps you

and oh yeah...il like to see that 50+mph TITAN video

well thanks to Saleens help I have finished putting my jet drive in my K-Mart cat that I did just to get the feel for it before i do the real deal on my TITAN> So all i have hooked up is a 500 or so motor and a cheap speed control and a lipo. No steering yet. So i had my dad come down to the lake and stand on the other side while I hooked up the battery, manually turned up the throttle, pointed her toward my dad and set her in the water. She ran a strait line across the lake at about 15 mph with no prob. Cool stuff. :) Tomorrow i will go grab a servo from archie jr, install it and go have some fun. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction Saleen. Ordering a jet drive tomorrow as well to get started on my REAL project. By the way, All the jet drives I have looked at my motor is too tuff for according to the specs. Does anyone know of a drive worthy od a HACKER B-50L?. Not even the largest Graupner nor Kehrer drives can handle it. Can i hook up a electric to a glow drive or should i just settle for the largest i can get and hope i dont break it do to overpowering it?

Hobby Lobby International carries the Graupner jet drive series.

Thank you good sir. I must have missed those two last ones. Would you go with the Graupner or the Kehrer?http://www.jet-drive.de/vg_server/custom/frameset.php?generateID=1&pageTitle=Kehrer-Modellbau&language=0 That is the site for the Kehrer. Your suggestion would mean a lot. I am new to this stuff as you can tell.

The Kehrer Jets are generally seen as the better jets.

Hacker 50-L: as most jets are limited to 15.000rpm, more will just add foam..., it would be nice to know how many turns this specific motor has.

The largest 40mm Kehrer needs a 22cc Zenoah, or electric equivalent like a Plettenberg 355, you should compare the specs of the motors, mentioned on the Kehrer site to those of your motor.

If the rpm's are way too high, there's always the option of using a planetary reduction from Hacker to get the rpm into the desired range.
