The large one is 13mm from center to outside, 26mm outside to outside. We are currently working on 3D arms at 38mm. :D

That is one darned-nice looking digital micro servo. Compares favorably with anything from Futaba or JR. At 11mm thick, the sailplane crowd will probably really like these. Methinks I'll have to try a few and see what they're like :)

Thanks for the comment. One of the highest praises I received at the SEFF was from the discus launch gliders guys that complain that there are no good servos for the rudder. The rudder undergoes high centrifugal G loading during launch and other servos drop their drawers (strip). These won't do that. The metal gear servos that will soon be on the way will tolerate even more abuse!

Yeah, the standard rudder servo for DLGs seems to be a JR 241. For gliders though I was thinking about wing servos. 11mm is thin enough to fit in most wings, 26oz is a decent amount of torque (especially if you have other servos for the flaps) and the speed is more than enough - they're very similar to the Futaba S3153/4 digi. The open question would be what's the resolution like? I've ordered a couple and I'll find out :)

I just got two of these in the mail today. One of them was missing the rubber mounting grommets in the hardware bag - oh well - and the other (running it on the Hitec servo tester) made a sound like there was sand in the gears, and then (after a minute or so of testing) just stopped working completely. Two things come to mind: 1) You never get a 2nd chance to make a first impression and 2) You get what you pay for. I guess a good micro digi really does cost $30!

For the cost of shipping the DOA unit back to the U.S. it's probably not even worth returning for me - I'll junk the dead one and put the other in a foamy or something else that I don't care about :D

Mr. Walker...thank you for your reply. I always have given the best service to my customers because I have felt that they deserve it. Sure I have problems from time to time just like anyone else. I do wish you had contacted me before the post though. So be it...what would you like me to do regarding the product? Just say the word. And I didnt even charge you for international shipping.

Vammy,

I don't see why I should contact you before posting on a public forum  I never said anything about your customer service (which I hear is terrific) and I'm not asking for anything - the money involved is so minimal that it's not worth worrying about.

As far as I'm concerned I just spent a few bucks to see what I'd get for digital micro servos that were half the price of comparable offerings from JR and Futaba. Someone asked me what I got and I told them. That's what I like about public forums: they contain unfiltered, raw data. Maybe others will have different experiences and this post will end up being simply one data point among many.

I guess I just would have given a vendor the chance to take care of it before I posted negatively about the product....but hey...thats just me. ;) You have all the right to post what you like. I still would like to replace them.
They should ship this week.

That would be true if I wanted something from you; however I don't. I'm merely conveying information to the other members of RCGroups. I would post that information no matter what.

There really is no need to send me other servos, but thank you for the gesture.

Something doesn't smell right.....at all. You spend your money and don't care if you get a satisfactory product?

If you find those shirts for me go ahead and toss in a digital so I can check it out. Just let me know the total with shipping.

Thanks
