I am wondering about the general effects of torque on a tractor setup. Does torque cause the plane to roll left? I have witnessed this before, and I think I have been told that.

I am anticipating that torque will be a major issue on the maiden flight of a new, rather large, and rather powerful scratch built wing. Should I input a little elevon trim to the right? Any other ways to decrease the effects of torque?

Anything else I need to be aware of concerning torque in preparation for my maiden flight? I haven't worried about it in the past, but I have never used this powerful of a motor.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Torque, or "p-factor" is mainly experienced at very low speeds.
All those Navy prop fighters we see "torque rolling" into the ocean on a waveoff are good examples.
If you launch the plane level with a goodly amount of speed, and don't try to pull up any more than needed to miss the ground if it sinks, torque shouldn't be any problem.
.
Planes with low roll inertia would be more affected than something with some span, such as a wing.
