Hi all,

I have a Senior Telemaster ARF that I just got together and then things went bad. I was triming it out and checking out my power wattage and I broke the rear frame right in front of the rudder/elevator wings. Talk about a weak spot. What happened was I powered it up, pulling 1250 watts and let off and it rolled back a bit and then I hit it again not noticing there was slack between the horizontal wing and my holder thingie and crack!!!

I'm kinda a novice plane guy and was wondering if you all could give me some fix it advice. I took some pictures to show all.

B.T.W. I'm running a Rimfire 50-65-300, CC45HV, UBEC and a 16-8 prop pulling 1250 watts on a 10s1p a123 pack. I know it's too much power but I needed a motor that I could run my 10s1p a123 cells on so I didn't need special packs for each thing. I run 2 of these 10s1p a123 packs in my e620 Raptor. According to motorcalc it should run for 20 mins + at nice steady flight and about 5 mins at full throttle. Imagine that, light 3D in a Senior Telemaster!!!

Align everything back where it is suppose to be and super glue the cracks. Now take some balsa sheet and glue on the inside going a 1 to 2 inches either side of the damage. Same thickness(minimum) as material that was cracked. Do this for each crack in the airframe. Use a slow cure epoxy for these repairs. At the narrow areas you can also use some hardwood square sticks to re-enforce the damaged areas. After everything is cured, lightly sand and recover.

What Bruff said.

You could take this opportunity to customize your ST a little.

You could uncover all the aft fuse and after the repairs, you could recover in a different color.....red...blue...black....

The ST ARF is actually pretty well built. a number of models could break like that when a powerful electric motor is throttled up fast, with some slack between your legs and the tail.

I traded a Swift Helicopter for it.

I was going to buy a Telemaster, the 6' one, but I got lucky and a trade worked out or a senior.
