Any idea on what the quality of the Midwest rtr is or was ? I can buy one of those new in the box.
My first build might end up being a "buy"

Check out Franks Mosquito Boat Hobbies for PT boats as well. Has some great hulls and many upgraded parts.

Finished the Dumas PT-109 33". First boat build. Lots of fun. Nice size boat. There also is a guy named John who has an outstanding website called PT-Boat.com that has kits for sell.

Micro Glass sells a fiberglass hull for a 1:10 scale Elco 77' (http://www.microglass.net/products/p1020.html) with plans. The hull is nearly 8' long and 2' wide. Some famous examples of the Elco 77' are: PT-41 got MacArthur out of the Phillipines and PT-65 was JFK's second command, after losing the 109. A model in this scale will weigh nearly 100 pounds.

Holy smokes! I thought he only made a one off for a customer. Man, that would be awesome to build on! :D

That would depend on the numbers Charlie Foxtrot issues, unless you can choose "vanity" numbers.
