I am in the thinking stage of converting and Wendall Hostetler Cessna 337 Skymaster to electric using two Hacker A-60's.
My question is concerning the rear pusher motor.
Would the thrust be sufficient if you install a regular prop in the normal direction then reverse the motor, therby pushing air.
This, of course, would alleviate trying to find a large pusher prop?
I know when you have a single engine plane and the motor runs backwards, air is pushed rather than pulled. I just don't know how efficient this action is.
Has anybody out there tried an electric pull-push set-up?
