Robbe Neptun

Hi All!

There doesn't seem to be a lot on RC Groups about this tug, so here is my build thread.

I purchased a Robbe Neptun tug kit this Friday from Burnaby Hobbies for $199. I thought this was a lot, but turns out it included the $70 fittings kit.

This Kit is about 90% ABS plastic, looks like it would go together easily for some one who has worked with ABS before. (I have not.)

I have not started the tug yet, but have practised building the small Zodiac that attaches to the funnel.

Does anyone have any tips or hints for working with ABS?

Looks like it will be a fun build!

Take your time and follow the instructions. If the ABS is vac form, knowing robbe it probably is, with a lot of cut-off material, measure 3 times, before you cut. My first kit was a Robbe Najade and i hated every minute of the build (love the boat now though).

by the way it will be "fun" in the chinese sence, like "may you live in interesting times!"

I just purchased a Robbe Neptun Tug and was wondering if you were going to update you build page. This is my first ABS model and I'm open to any comments and suggestions.
