UAV controllers

HI,

I'm interested in building a UAV , where should I start? whats the most common hardware configuration?

I would like to use it on a GWS dragonfly helicopter

I was thinking of using a PIC controller.

We need to back up a step. What are your intentions for the UAV? What type of control do you need? The GWS dragonfly is a novel helicopter and is a great learning tool. Unfortunatly it would be very, very difficult to control using electronics. If at all possible, it is much more cost and time effective to aim for a fixed wing design. If you absolutely need the ability to hover, I suggest a quad rotor design like the draganfly. Check out the other thread:
