I just made the big mistake of going a full throttle launch w/ jetscreamer and 5 bladed fan, it went straight up, did a flip, and then straight down. The damage wasn't horrible, but it will look somewhat deformed. I guess I will try adjusting the elevators and launching at half throttle next time.

Oh no! I warned everyone about that :eek:

It has the poop to do it, but you have no elevator control until the plane is going at least 10mph.

If you run the JS on 4S with a 5 blade fan, you must launch at 1/2 throttle.

I got the nose all fixed up so hopefully it will fly tomorrow. I guess with 3 cells you would have to launch a bit more than half throttle then.

Not much ;) The Mig is very agile and fast! The best way is to just set it on the grass and throttle it up! It will lift off when the airfoil begins creating lift, which is also the same time all the control surfaces begin to have control authority. Yeah even on 3S it has better than 1:1 power to weight with the 5 blade :)

Yah, I really enjoyed flying it with the 3 bladed fan, went for a little more power and quietness with the 5 blade because I fly in the back of a church yard surrounded by houses. The 3 bladed was like a high pitched scream.

Is it possible to just swap the stock 3-blade fan in my MiG for the new blue 5-blade and get an increase in performance (and apparently a decrease in sound level)? I am running a 3S 1320, though I also just received a new 3S 1500 Flight Power pack.

That's is what I did, I just had to get a 25 amp esc that could handle the higher amp draw. This fan is alot more quieter than the 3 bladed one.

That's interesting. I fly in a field that sometimes has people nearby on horseback so quieter is better for me too. Thanks for the info ~,~
