And no, it's not the Zagi.
I mean competition class soaring flying wings. I've seen some links on the subject, but only full scale stuff. Any exceptional model info out there?
Thanks,
Ken

The Martin Hepperle website had a lot of great information, but his site is down at the moment. Another excellent source is Aerodesign.de ( http://www.aerodesign.de/ ) but most of the text is in German.
Have fun,

Ken, maybe not exactly what you are looking for, but an interesting new thread developing on what may be an excellent wing design:

Don't know if electrics count, but the most amazing model flying wing I've seen is this one:
http://home.t-online.de/home/Franz-Josef.Ney/Bilder.htm
It flies in regular F5F (10cell F5B) contests and is up there with the best models.
In most contests I've witnessed or checked , it uses less motor on time
( mostly 4-6 s) to complete the thermal part (10 minute glide). The climbing power is amazing.
If only it could fly a little faster in the laps (turns are great). For those that worry about the launch:
it is launched motor off... (goes wrong sometimes). Sorry for the Big picture,
I'll remove it if its a problem.

I've seen a Windfreak (RCM PLAN pl-743 cat. 5), fly very well as an electrified sailplane.
A lot of information on wings can be found here:

Wow, great stuff! Thanks all. That SB-13 looks like it's just crying for a pusher electric motor.

hardlock -
I am a flying wing nut, along with canards and other things. I think the best commercially available wing was the Klingberg wing. Made in 72" and 100" sizes. I've had 3 - 72" and 1 - 100"
and had them straight sailplane, electric and slimer powered. If you reduced the washout angle to around 3 degrees they flew without much trim change throughout their speed range.

If you're into flying wings, the links below are a must! ==> Tons o' pics (but all text in German :( ). Cool stuff (see pics below).
Many of the links on the linked page below go to multiple pages of pics (but they make it tough to find the pics - For example, the first link in the list goes to a page where the link to more photos is called "weiter" at the very bottom of the page). Plus, the links aren't underlined or otherwise highlighted; click on everything!

For those who arenīt afraid of german websites:
www.aerodesign.de
It has lots of good aero stuff on it. Would be worth it, if a native speaker with some german knowledge could translate that into english.
