Don't know what it looks like... but many folks make some sort of cradle & clamp for the motor can instead of using the "face mount" screw holes.
You can also build up a plywood box to do a face mount, with side gussets to stiffen the vertical "face board", see my triple motor mount attached.

toes: I used and aluminium mount and then cut gussets from brass sheet and epoxied them in place with J-B Weld. Holding up a Johnson Mini-EV nicely.

Toes- I've got a mount similar to tom's...had no bend in it, used a 3lb hammer, a block of wood, and a bench vise to get it close. then changed to a 1 lb. hammer etc. for the 'delicate' adjustments. needless to say I was happy when I was done :).

Good to see you got something in place.
I was going to suggest that you build a rear mounting plate.
Pittman motors often have two or three threaded holes on the back side of the motor.

j/k :p

toesup...good lookin motor mount, jb weld does work very well for cold welding,I have found some aluminium will and will not bend, even if you heat it

Love JB Weldfor making aluminum parts stick to gether. Used it on brass works where I drilled the holes too big and need a solid filler that works great as a binder/strength. Sands/files nicely as well.

How much does this motor weigh?
I could maybe build you one out of fiberglass.

I have found limits to J/B weld... but is really strong stuff. As for aluminum you can't bend? Sounds like Heresy to me. I've bent 1" plate steel with an acetylene torch and a 2lb sledge hammer.
¼" aluminum shouldn't even put up much of a fight to a propane torch and a good sturdy hammer. Now, titanium aluminum alloy is an entirely different matter! :D LOL!

LOL indeed! :D
I was in the same boat (pardon the pun) for a while. I had a clamp on vice that did (and still does) wonders for me. I've also bent metals over a concrete curb! The trick seemed to be patience with a propane torch, get the aluminum red hot and bend on the clamp line. Then it was just hammer into final position and take out any warps... I have to do this for my High Wind conversion. I have a 3/16th inch plate that is hardened aluminum I have to bend for the servo/battery mount. Anneal, clamp, heat, bend, heat, quench... going to be a joy.
That J/B weld mount looks like a winner there....

Why does this sound so familiar to me?? :p
