Just a thought, how about a special section for indoor flying?

I would think that the Slowflyer forum would suit that niche. They're pretty close in requirements.

Even Model Aviation has an indoor article in addition to the electric column. I think an indoor section could become very popular. Also, Model Airplane News puts out a seperate micro newsletter. Sorry Mark but I have to disagree! Slowflyer does not suit the niche.

I agree with Mark.
If you read the caption under the Slow Flyer link, it says "Discussion of Indoor and Free Flight Models." I realize that the forum is also used for small park flyers, but in the right building most of these can be flown indoors too.

I think that we should keep this format. If we have new forums, I won't finish it in a day!!! http://www.ezonemag.com/disc/eek.gif

I agree that the Slow Flyer forum is specifically for slow flying and indoor and that works- I also agree that we should keep the forums as they are - unless it is possible to move the ones I read to the top and leave the ones I don't read at the bottom so that then I won't have to scroll.
........oh and while you're up I'll have a grape......ready peeled of course http://www.ezonemag.com/disc/wink.gif

I'd like to suggest a few more forum topics. More specialized forums would allow people to just check the ones they are most interested in.
For example, the indoor forum seems too broad. A special forum for Lite Sticks might help. I'd also like to see a forum on extremely light indoor planes, which generally use more specialized hardware (e.g., WES Tech servos or magnetic actuators) and have their own range of issues.
I also agree that a forum for planes scratch built from plans or whatever would be a good forum. People could start a topic on a plane they are building and swap tips with others building the same plane. Plus, posting progress pictures would help each other. This works fairly well on RCMicroflight's "plan of the month" forum. A similar forum would work well on E-zone.
Finally, one huge difference between the RCMicroflight BB and this one seems to be that there is very little direct posting of pictures here. I can't find any utility for uploading pictures. Is there one? I have only seen a few pictures directly in someone's reply. Most people seem to post their pictures elsewhere and then put the link to that site in their message. It's more enjoyable to have at least some of the pictures directly in the message.

It also takes much longer for the page to load. We prefer to post links to webpages rather than post the pic itself out of courtesy to those that must pay long distance hookups and per minute charges. Not everyone on earth has a local # and unlimited access.

I'd like to suggest a lot less forums. I think we should just keep the ones I read and get rid of the dross http://www.ezonemag.com/disc/smile.gif. Seriously, there are too many to keep up with already. Specialisation just means you miss lots of useful info because it wasn't where you expected it to be.

That's one reason why I read these forums and not that one. I don't want to wait for ages and spend a small fortune downloading everyone's "valuable" pictures. Please put in links so I can look at them when and if I feel like.

Amen. I also believe there are already too many, as evidenced by members feeling the need to make duplicate posts in more than one forum, in an effort to catch a response.

Good points. However, I've not been the first to suggest more and more-specialized forums. Posting links instead of pictures is a relevant consideration. I've accessed BBs with pictures via slow dial up and fast connections. There is a difference, but It wasn't too bad even with the dial up. But, this is a very good point. Still, out of consideration I'll have to learn about sites where I can put pictures and then reference them in posts.

I'd agree that indoors should come under the Slow Flyers forum, except that that forum seems to have turned into the Lite Stik forum, much as the Foamies forum has turned into the Zagi forum. Instead, how bout a combined Zagi/LiteStik forum? http://www.ezonemag.com/disc/tongue.gif
Just a tongue in cheek suggestion. Well, mostly tongue in cheek.

Yeah, it's actually much easier to browse the sujects of each thread than to go to one forum, then another, then another... Go to Ezone 10 minutes before work just wanting to check up on certain threads, and there's no way u can get done in time. The forums are fine as they are. Just my opinion. And I have seen no problems with the slowflyer forum. Some forums get little enough traffic as it is..

I agree they take space. Also when they're on the board you have to look at them and scroll through them every time you read that thread again.. same old pix you've already seen.
I forget if we have signatures here, but they can get out of hand too. I was on a group where some people had so many pictures and titles and "cute" sayings in their sig it took a whole page just for that.
