For those of you using Vista and are having a problem installing the update, run Phoenixrc as an administrator. You can not do that using the link on your desktop. you have to go to te intalation directory (c/proggram files/phoenixrc ) and right click on phoenixrc.exe with your right mouse button and coose Run as Administrator. When prompted to set up you TX again just ignore it ( I closed the program and ran it as Admin again and the second time it did ot ask me to recalibrate the TX )

hope it helps someone!

Finally! =)

Thanks.

However, im not able to join anything. I did open ports 9000-9005 og my router, and did a reset on it.

Still no go - the closest i got was it said "beep", and then crashed to my desktop.

Any advice would be nice, id be more than happy to help you flatten out the bugs.

One thing though, you normally say you have to install all updates as 1,2,3,4, etc - ie. if you have a new phoenix, install them all from one end to the other to avoid mishaps.

I only saw the 1.3f version, and couldnt download or install the previous 1.3d, and was there a 1.3e?

If so, is it ok to "just" download and use the one i have now, or could this be causing my crashes/not able to connect?

ange, drop a mail to support@phoenix-sim.com detailing the problem, exactly when it crashes.

Thanks for the update.

Can I assume that 1.03f is only about multiplayer and does not add any other functionality or fixes? If so, I'll pass and wait for 1.04, which, by the way, looks to have some interesting features.

Cheers

well i reinstalled the latest update and it works now!
It is madness with about 6 planes and helis all flying around the field at once  Good fun though :D
Kind of reminds me of our field just before dark when everybody tries to have one last fly of the day.

I still have yet to learn my bankai ;) Yeah lots of fun, I'm diggin it! Seems like this latest 1.03g update helped the resetting bug quite a bit. Either that, or limiting the players to 3 is what did it.

All I get is "There is a problem connecting to this session, try again later" or most often a beep immediately followed by a crash to the desktop!?!?

The system is Win XP Media Edition through a router. I tried to look at the port forwarding on the router but couldn't find where to set it??

Any help?

I'm using the same OS through a router as well, but didn't have to do anything to get it to work. Could it be the Windows firewall perhaps?

I downloaded and installed the multiplayer beta this evening. I have no problems in saying that I am pleasantly surprised at how well it worked and that is coming from someone who has been less than loving about this software.

I did not see where the chat or text features where, perhaps they are to be added later?

Hit "c" then type your message to chat. Took me a while to figure that out.

The first attempt at multiplayer resulted in the firewall throwing up a flag, but since then Phoenix was put on the "exceptions" list so the firewall no longer blocks it....

The best result I got was when I tried to join one session I could briefly see the other players in the backround before I was asked for the password to join.

My router is an SMC router if that helps.

i have win. media center o.s.. download and install 1.03g.. first install i see myself joining but don't see other flyer's..then try to host, same thing..ok thought i restart my computer.. after that i couldn't even get a connection to join..can't find any hoster.. try hosting, i loose the aircraft, see a photo field and wait..nothing happens, select an aircraft, it crashed to a blank screen, and i recieve a window error screen.. open pheonix again..try in several times. restart..same thing.. i know my windows firewall is off..(i have no virus software).. i think i have the ports open( i have D-link 604 router, anyone know how to open ports)..because i installed the upgrade again, was able to connect again. then loose it again..also i notice i've lost the balloon popping game..i see the shadows and hear them pop but no ballons..

Hi all, i have just ordered Phoenix, hopefully get it in time for the weekend..

Just wondering about the multiplayer modes... can it be a split screen thing where you can both play on the one pc with one copy of the software or is it strictly a 2 or more pc thing via lan or over the net?

I did the multiplayer thing last night. It worked pretty well - for some reason it slowed my computer down a lot when other people where in the frame though. It got really jerky. Also my heli kept getting "reset". I would be fly around and then suddenly it would flash and I'd be back on the ground ready to take off. Even with those issues it was a lot of fun.

OS is WinXP, through a Microsoft router on a cable modem.

I still think that the multiplayer idea is a bad move at this stage but anyway.

If you guys want to talk to each other in realtime whilst flying together then how about using teamspeak http://www.goteamspeak.com/ . It is used by us gamers to coordinate gameplay etc.

Once it is set up you can use it to speak to anyone who is also logged onto the teamspek server either by sound/voice activation or by pressing a key. Could be real handy for teaching someone.

Uses very little bandwidth.

skunkerama, have you tried it? an excellent training tool if used correctly.

not saying it isnt fun knocking the pits into eachother in the hover or flying the hawks in formation. but by flying with flying with others watching them and getting them to watch you. both of you can improve your skills.

i had a nice session helping a couple of guys improve their autos the other night.

have you tried it yet? let me know if you fancy a fly.

I dl'ed version H for multiplayer and noticed my normal sim play now has somewhat of a "blip"? I can hear it in the motor as well. Like a millisecond hesitation. I tried changing graphic settings but it didn't go away. While playing online it seems fine.

Just wondering if anyone else noticed this.

BTW, Online is AWESOME!

My email is down this weekend, otherwise I'd mail support. Can one of you guys forward maybe???

I'm unable to connect to PhoenixNet - so can't advertise my session, and can't see any others to join.

Seems the phoenix server port is unreachable???

The size of the outgoing UDP packet also seems suspiciously small?

Ive always been able to connect and host a room but today i seem to have problems connecting.

Maybe they are doing some networking updates or something?

The Beta version 1.03i has some problems when players try to switch between aircraft. It occasionally freezes. I've had this happen offline as well, but not as frequent.

Ade, if you could let the developers know. Or maybe they already know.

I have noticed as well that if two pilots crash or start/restart at the same time that the aircraft will be positioned in almost the same spot. Happend 3 or 4 times today. If one pilot guns it and gets out then all is well, other than that the planes will reset to the same position repetitively.

Maybe a little collision avoidance is needed, have alternate spawn points for aircraft?

A artillary mode would be nice also, I could go into spectate->artillary and then shoot down the aircraft as they pass in front of me. :) Oh yeah, need tracer rounds also. :D
