I am trying to get my new Esky 0905A simulator controller to work under Windows XP. I need the help of someone who’s controller is working under XP. If you could look and tell me what drivers are loading for the controller, I would appreciate it.

If you do not know how to find this information, the steps below will show you how to do it.

Thanks
Steve

Go to: Start-->Control Panel-->System

Double click System to open it.

Select the Hardware Tab

Click the Device Manager Button

Scroll to the bottom of the list till you see “Universal Serial Bus Controllers”. If it has a plus “+” next to it, click the “+” to expand the list.

Plug your Esky 0905A Simulator Controller into a USB port. You should the see it appear in the “Universal Serial Bus Controllers list.

There is nothing to it. It is plug and play. Just plug in the controller and select "Start", then "Control Panel" then "Game Controllers" and you will see the controller listed as "ADC". Click on it and you will see red control bars. Move the sticks and the bars will move. You are all set. You may select "Properties" and do "Calibrate". That is all.

Just plug in the controller and select ...

Thats the problem, its not plug and play on my system. XP sees a USB device but does not recognize it. When you look at the controllers, there is none listed. This is why I was asking for someone who has one working to tell me what driver windows is assigning. I am hopeing I can then locate the drivers and manually assign them. That is assuming my controller is OK.

My Esky works great. I just did as your instructions and there is no change in the list under "Universal Serial Bus controllers when I plug or unplug the Esky. XP does give a sound signal when I plug in or unplug the Esky, but it does not show up in The Universal Serial Bus controller list.

Under "Universal Serial Bus controllers I have 4 "Intel(R) 82801EB USB...." listed. There are 4 "USB Root Hub" listed. I think these must be my 4 USBs on my mother board. There is also a "USB COmposite Device" but this does not seem to change when I plug in or unplug my Esky.

Anything else and I will give it a go,

Ray

Have you tried on another USB port? It may be the port. Or, try the unit on another computer so you find what is the problem - your computer or the E-Sky unit. I have tried many of them and they all worked, so the chance the unit is bad is small (but indeed not zero).

I've tried two computers with the same exact results. I am thinking I got a bad one. As I purchased it on E-bay, I am probably out of luck.

Try contacting the seller, in most cases they will get it back if not working.

Under the "Human Interface devices" there is a listing for "HID-compliant game controller"...this must be it.

The properties for it is :
Driver provider: Microsoft
Driver Date: 7/1/2001
Driver Version: 5.1.2600.2180
Digital Signer: Microsoft Windows Publisher

Under Details:

Device Instance Id

HID\VD_0402&PID_)0402\6&21782538&0&0000

Hope this helps

Had the same problem with this USB simulator. Could not find any proper driver! The automatically found driver would not work.
Then I looked for a driver in the windows/system32 and it found something. So finally its working!!
