hi,
does anyone knows if icircuits' OSD-GPS(altitude version) and Etec GPS receiver EB-85A can be connected directly? I am really new in this, since the osd takes in GGA for lat/long/altitude and RMC for groundspeed and EB-85A provides these data, is it that the osd circuit polls for these inputs and display upon receiving the data?
with EB-85A capable of 5hz update, can the osd match that data refresh rate.
is there any other recommendation other then icircuits' OSD-GPS and Etec GPS receiver EB-85A. thanks.

I brought several type of OSD and finally I think I will finish with dpcav
You can see their product from the link below

http://www.dpcav.com/inspire/inspire.htm

The product just on it way shipping to me.
However I am sure this kind will finish what you need.

Will report you after test.

I don't know what the refresh rate is on the IC unit but I use it on a Garmin eTrex which has a 2 second refresh rate. It keeps up just fine.

I would email IC circuits with specific compatability questions about your unit.

have got a replied from icircuit, they say as long as its a a RS-232 or 5 volt TTL signal coming from the GPS rx, it will work!
I went back to Etek EB-85A specs, it says its signal type is an UART @ 2.8v * 2. will this work then?
