airsoft game

i want to put an airsoft rifle into a b25 bomber. it will be used to do air strikes in an airsoft game. i want to put a fpv camera in it to help aim the airsoft gun. what is every ones thoghts on this. remeber these people will be wareing face masks and want to be shot. the air strik will be called by throughing a base ball with a ribon conected to it so i will know where to go and teams are indicated by collor duck tap.

i dont think the AMA would approve of this but cool you should try it but remember SAFETY only shoot people who want to be shot and how big is the b-25

Not to rain on your parade but, this sounds like a recipe for injury. While they do make glasses that superimpose First person video. I doubt that you could properly aim during your 2 second strafe. Plus the distraction of trying to do so would probably make you turn your bomber into a potato digger. The AMA expressly states no projectiles except in AMA events, and only then it has to be an approved demonstration. So if you hurt someone from a collision you would bear sole liability.

Throw in another receiver in your plane and have a buddy man the guns while you keep your eyes on the plane. Teamwork is fun. Eventually you can have one friend on each gun (front, rear, etc.) while you fly them around. I hope your plane can carry the weight. That would be too much fun. Convert your B-25 to electric if it's not already, and you'll have the advantage of the stealthy, quiet, surprise attack.

Anyone know how many gun mounts the B-25 had historically? This could be interesting, but you do need to make sure the emphasis is on safety.

P. S. I seem to remember there was some similar discussion on the Castle Creations contest forum; one guy built a paintball gun on a R/c mount, and someone posted a link to a company testing a shotgun-carrying R/C heli. I don't know if the forum is still there, though.

I have always had the same idea and my cousins had asked me that same question for years. Imagine rc dogfights with real shooting! :D :p :)

you will need a cheap automatic airsoft gun. i know alot about that, i almost got out of this hobby just for airsoft guns!

From what I understand, airsoft is considerably less painful than paintball, simply because the projectiles are so much smaller. It's also probably not feasible to mount a semi-auto paintball gun, air, and ammo into a reasonably sized R/C plane; airsoft would be much lighter.

:confused: How in the world do they fit any paint into a .177 round? I've never heard of that before.

Granted, that would work better than a regular plastic pellet.

My younger brother got some of those small paint rounds once, and IMO they hurt more than a regular airsoft round. The stupid things hardly ever broke unless you hit a hard surface (watch, mask, gun, etc.) and they are rather pricey in comparison to regular rounds. Though if you used them for air to air it would not cause near as much damage to your opponents plane as a regular BB would. Just wouldn't work too well for the original posters idea.

Though as some others have pointed out, there are several saftey/legal issues to work out in building such a contraption. Though a scale corsair with six of those in it or a scale B-17 loaded with mutiple turret units would be an amazing sight to see.

EDIT:
Now that I think about it, you would be better off rolling paintballs out of a bomb bay on the plane. The plastic BBs would basicially be falling out of the sky given their rapid fall off rate (next to no weight, and thus no inertia) and the airspeed of the plane that they would have to overcome.

OT: Though all of this talk does bring to mind an idea for dogfighting, why not hack in some old laser tag gear?
