I purchased the Pheonix sim this weekend and downloaded the Trex SE. I have adjusted the weight and motor watts to more resemble my trex. I also have added exponential to the elevator and airelon because it seemed hard to maintain control. It is easier to fly the real thing than the on sim. Also if the heli gets too far away it becomes very hard to tell orientation. I know it does in real life too so maybe I'm just not keeping it close enough on screen. 2D vs 3D?
Anybody have this sim and what have you changed for your trex?

Trex450Scf-SE, BCP, DX7

ashley davis of trex tuning created both of the trex varients. I have flown both of the models that the sim is based on and I would say they are definitly pretty close.

it is an SE tho so setup like an SE should be with high headspeed and lots of pitch/cyclic.

do you have auto zoom switched on?

I have the 450S cf and have upgraded the head and tail to all metal but the motor and esc is stock align. I don't know about the auto zoom but the viewing position does change the farther away the heli goes but by then it really is hard to make out orientation- just some black blob on the screen. I will check the auto zoom feature tonight.

thats pretty realistic of a trex they do dissappear and get very small quite quick. You could also try increasing the screen resolution.

I found the Trex a bit on the twitchy side initially and toned down the cyclical response with some expo. Also set my dual rates on the TX to give me a choice. But the more I fly it, the less twitchy it seems! Amazing phenomenon.

The other thing I did that you might try is increasing hover stability. Try 100% and see what it feels like.

As for getting small and hard to see very fast, isn't that what happens in reality? As a result of intensive practice on the simulator, now that the weather permits real flying, I find my ability to figure out orientation has much improved over where it was last fall. Consequently, I have recovered from a couple of nasty situations far out with my Maxir that previously would have meant crashes.

I just set up dual rates (60%) on my tx for the first time ever and wow, shes a pleasure to fly now! Plus a touch of expo, and I increased the tension of the springs within the tx too. The more I mess about with different settings, the more I love it - (look away now Ade) - I even enjoy flying the Scythe and Spark now! :p

Auto zoom was on. Maybe I will add some dual rates. I think it is just my perspective. It seems to want to fly fast with just a little input. At least there are many varibles to change. It would be nice if there was some more infomation about the various parameters as the pdf manual doesn't say anything.
